The need for women to stand united and champion each other has never been more crucial. At the heart of our mission is the unwavering belief that very woman deserves an equal opportunity to thrive, succeed and lead.
AAUW has been empowering women as individuals and as a community since 1881. For more than 130 years we have worked together as a national grassroots organization to improve the lives of millions of women and their families. AAUW Sarasota has been actively involved in the local community since its inception. We support multiple education initiatives related to the AAUW mission.
Advocating for Womens’ Rights
The Sarasota branch of AAUW advocates for change by joining campaigns, lobbying efforts, and community outreach initiatives. Together we can work to close the gender pay gap and ensure equal compensation for equal work; challenge discriminatory policies in workplaces, schools and communities and work to create a world where every woman can reach her full potential.
By joining movements that advocate for women’s rights, individuals can actively participate in creating a more inclusive and equitable world.
